I like that the older gentleman is looking toward the young chap in this shot. The red car in the background is a little distracting, but I don’t like cropping shots too much – I prefer to try and compose in camera as much as I can. One day in the distant future, when I have the time, I might try to scan the images with the film rebate showing. I have always liked that look…
Apologies for the qualities of the scans recently, as there has been loads of dust on them. I need to clean them up better in future…. best order some compressed air from Amazon and something for the scanner!
I picked up the films today for the 365 project and dropped a few more off as well.
This shop window in Brighton really caught my eye when I was visiting. One thing I really like about Brighton is the liberal / arty atmosphere there.
So, as I have taken the film camera with me today for the 365 project, I have decided I will post up a ‘shot of the day’ from my collection of images. I am going to shoot the 365 project on film for a while, get the film processed locally, then post the images up as a block post. Oh yeah, and somehow I need to record what shots I took on what day to keep track of the whole thing!
One thing I have noticed just by looking back over some images is that I shoot a lot ‘looser’ with a (film) rangefinder camera over a DSLR, where the images are more tightly composed. I am not totally sure why, but I really like how different cameras bring out different styles of photography.
This is a shot from a trip to Brighton some time back, I wish I could have lounged around like this today!
