Empty chairs

This is a little project that has been ticking along for the last couple of years.  I am not really sure what it is about at the moment, apart from the obvious topic of empty chairs. I keep getting drawn to photographing these chairs whenever I see them. But once you look at enough empty chairs something else seems to happen, the work to me seems to take on a phenomenological property where it’s about absence (or negation to be Sartrean about it). There is a sad quality to the work, probably as some of the benches relate to the ideas contained within the remembrance project for me.
